Philippa is a science writer who specializes in many areas of technical writing, as well as preparation of marketing documents, review articles and business plans. In addition, she has expertise in preparing analytical summaries as part of biotech, pharma or venture capital due diligence processes. In the area of technical writing, Philippa has expertise in writing research papers, regulatory submissions, training manuals, patent applications and grant applications.

Philippa's academic experience includes completion of a Ph.D. from the University of Toronto in the department of Medical Genetics and Microbiology. Her thesis dealt with the field of gene regulation, focusing on the mechanisms that control human gene transcription, and how these mechanisms can be disrupted in cancer. In addition to her broad knowledge in the areas of genetic diseases and cancer, Philippa has an understanding of multiple scientific disciplines, including functional genomics, proteomics, biochemistry and pharmacogenomics. She is also experienced in many areas of biotechnology, including molecular diagnostics, infectious diseases, pharmacogenetics, and therapeutics.

Philippa brings superior writing, analytical, organizational and research skills to bear in the completion of all projects. In addition, she is adept at translating scientific information into lay language that can be understood and appreciated by the non-scientist. Among her many accomplishments, Philippa played major roles in successful submissions to the FDA.

In addition to her scientific training, Philippa is a classical pianist who taught piano at the Royal Conservatory of Music for seven years. Her other interests besides music include yoga and exercising, reading, and cooking. Philippa also volunteers her time on the Animal Care Committee in the research department at St. Michael's hospital.
